
Prominent figures from the military and medical communities gathered together to celebrate excellence in military medicine in this year’s Military and Civilian Health Partnership Awards.
The awards are dedicated to recognising the achievements of both military and civilian medical personnel in delivering healthcare to the Armed Forces.
Winners were announced at the awards ceremony which took place on 9th November in Birmingham, the home of the Royal Centre for Defence Medicine (RCDM) and the hub of military medicine in the UK.
There are nine awards categories in total, each dedicated to recognising a different facet of military medicine, from emergency medicine to primary healthcare.
The winners of this year’s awards are:
Deployed Healthcare Award – Blood for the Battlefield
Care of Veterans Award – Veterans First Point (V1P), NHS Lothian
Healthcare Civilian of the Year – Mr Rod Dunn, Odstock Centre for Burns, Plastic and Maxillofacial Surgery
Healthcare Regular of the Year – Lieutenant Colonel Steven Jeffery, Consultant Plastic Surgeon, RCDM
Healthcare Reservist of the Year – Major Robert Dawes, 144 Parachute Regiment Medical Squadron (Volunteers), 16 Medical Regiment
Mental Health Award – Veterans First Point (V1P), NHS Lothian
Health Improvement and Promotion – “Skilled for Health – Healthy Families”, Army Primary Healthcare Services, Wessex Region
Education and Training Award – CBRN Medical Training, Defence Chemical Biological and Radiological Nuclear Centre
Innovation and Service Development Award – Referrals Management System in Hohne Region, British Forces Germany (BFG) Health Services/Hohne Practice.
